PBS International is the worldwide co-production and distribution arm of PBS Distribution, a leading distributor of public media content around the world, entertaining audiences across platforms and formats. The company, a joint venture of PBS and GBH Boston, provides premium content through multiple digital channels and video services. PBS Distribution operates six subscription streaming channels — PBS Masterpiece (US and CA), PBS KIDS, PBS Living, PBS Documentaries and PBS America (U.K.)  as well as numerous Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) Channels in the U.S and U.K.  In addition, the company reaches viewers through transactional video-on-demand (TVOD), subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) licensing, Advertising-based Video on Demand (AVOD), DVD and Blu-ray, theatrical releasing, educational platforms, non-theatrical and inflight sales, and serves broadcasters and producers providing program sales and co-production financing.

Acquisition Policy

PBS International is seeking independent programs for distribution.

PBS International licenses programs produced by independent producers and public television organizations from around the world. Our objective is to maximize exposure and income for series or single programs through broadcast and non-broadcast entities around the globe. PBS International plays a major role in co-production financing and pre-sales.

Our experience selling high-end programs and mini-series has given us an extensive network of connections to all of the major documentary buyers for worldwide. Media buyers look to PBS International for a continuous supply of hard-to-get, high-quality, programs.

If you have a film, either completed or in production with funding attached, and are looking for a distributor, please submit it to Tracy Beckett, Director of Program and Media Acquisitions. Your submission must include a link to the film or trailer, a detailed treatment, budget, and finance plan, if applicable.

Please note that PBS International does not license programs for PBS broadcast in the United States or the United Kingdom.  Please refer to pbs.org/producing/proposal/ for instructions and forms to submit a proposal or a completed program, including children’s programs to PBS.
