Famous for its discretion and as a haunt of the rich and famous for the last five decades, The 50 Year Party offers an unseen glimpse into the rarefied world behind the doors of 44 Berkeley Square, home of the legendary Annabel’s. Both a cultural biopsy of London since the Second World War and a detailed history of the club from its inception through to the present day, the film focuses on the club’s founder, Mark Birley, who – by creating Annabel’s – transformed not only the fortunes of a dilapidated basement but also London’s international reputation.  Through the firsthand accounts and personal anecdotes of a wonderfully diverse cast of contributors including Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Bryan Ferry, Naomi Campbell, Goldie Hawn, Nicky Haslam and Lady Gaga, The 50 Year Party offers a personal account of what it is to be part of the high-flying world of Annabel’s. Through their stories, the film brings to life the heady mix of food, film stars, royalty, fashion and legendary music performances that have made Annabel’s a mecca for the great and the good over the last five decades.
