My Music with Rhiannon Giddens is a successor to David Holt’s State of Music, carrying on that show’s tradition of high production values in the service of American traditional music and its contemporary masters. A MacArthur “Genius Grant” recipient, Rhiannon Giddens has far-ranging musical interests and is eloquent about her mentors, inspirations, and the ongoing relevance of folk music to modern issues. She hosts a half-hour series combining musical performance with conversation between the host and guest artists. Like Giddens herself, the featured performers on the first season are innovative and accomplished women musicians and story tellers.
